We have so much planned for the coming year for both the Niños and the Peluditos projects! With sincere gratitude, we are appealing to your generosity of spirit to contribute to our fund drive for these projects we are committed to providing in the upcoming year.
Los Niños (the Children) Projects:
** Total renovation of a rotunda of 3 currently unusable buildings on the grounds of the middle school of Guillermo Garzon Ubidia.
These buildings will be turned into a library, science center and a computer lab for students who currently do not have those
available in their school. Expected cost of the renovation is $2500
** Purchase of additional supplies including computers, science materials, and a library of books that the children can use at
school. Estimated cost $3500
** Continued support for families who do not have the funds to send their children to high school(colegio). With continued funds yearly, we will be able to support children in getting a high school education and possibly going further to learn additional skills or
professions. Approximate cost per student/per year is $1000 which includes books, uniforms, transportation, school supplies, lunch
and other necessities and unexpected school charges.
Los Peluditos (Dog & Cat) Projects:
** Continued support for dog and cat spay/neuter/wellness projects in areas with severe overpopulation problems. Goal is to fund 2
projects per year, approximately 150 dogs per project. The estimated cost is $25 per animal which includes surgery,
anesthesia, pain management, vaccinations, parasite control and treatment of other minor health problems. The projects will include
pets as well as unowned street dogs. Goal of $7500 per year
** Funding for public education projects to teach children and adults about the importance of humane animal treatment and basic
animal caretaking. Goal of $800 per year
** Purchase and design of a specialized vehicle outfitted with surgical and medical treatment areas to facilitate animal care in
remote areas. Estimated cost of the mobile unit is $29,000
